Rustic lodges in the Rainforest with a beautiful view. Absolutely no amenities, but the staff is extremely nice and the food is plenty and delicious. Die Anreise ist abenteuerlich aber möglich mit einem 4x4. Dort ist die Natur im Vordergrund und auch die Ökologie. Das Projekt ist sehr gut und muss unbedingt unterstützt werden, denn es hat schon extrem viel bewirkt. Aber Regenwald heißt Regenwald und Nebel. Das muss einem klar sein, denn es wird regnen und zwar fast immer. Das ist kein strandurlaub.

If you are an absolute nature lover who wants to experience something truly out of the ordinary, this is the right place for you. However, if comfort is important to you, this is not the place to stay. Pros: La Tigra Rainforest Lodge is located in the middle of a rainforest. The façades of the individual lodges are open and offer a direct view into the forest. The rainforest is teeming with fascinating wildlife such as frogs and exotic snakes, which are showed and explained to you during the night walk by a profesional and friendly guide. The rainforest surrounding Tigra Rainforest Lodge was restored over 20 years ago thanks to an ecological project. Guests can contribute by planting a tree themselves (also guided by the very kind guide Alberto). The food at the restaurant is very tasty (buffet breakfast, and dinner was included at a good price during our stay). Cons: due to the solar-powered system, there is no warm water in the bungalows. During our stay (january, high season), temperatures averaged around 18°C with constant rain, I find the lack of warm water to shower unacceptable under these conditions. The lodge is remote and accessed via a steep road, but it is manageable with a 4x4 vehicle. The biggest negative point for me: unlike a tent, the façade of the bungalow cannot be closed. This means you sleep exposed to the outside temperature, even when it is cold. I had to sleep wearing a jacket. Combined with  the cold shower and constant rain, there is no opportunity to warm up or feel dry at any point. In addition, the room is not cleaned unless this is explicitly requested. Overall, it is an interesting experience for 1–2 days. A longer stay is only recommended for true nature lovers who are willing to give up all kind of comfort.

מקום ממש , אבל ממש בתוך הטבע, הבקתה הייתה יפה ונקיה אבל צריך לדעת שחצי פתוחה לאוויר, גשם כמובן לא נכנס אבל היה קר מאוד בלילות ולא היינו ממש מוכנים לכך לצערנו ... לאחר בקשה קיבלנו עוד שמיכות שעזרו... כן לציין כי הייתה נזילה בכיור מה שמנע מאתנו לנקות כלים ולהשתמש בכיור ארוחת הבוקר יחסית בסיסית אבל טעימה ומקומית.. דבר אחרון, הבקתה שלנו ושל זוג חברים היו רחוקות קצת מארחות הבוקר והקבלה, מעט מחוץ למתחם בעצם, במפה של הריזורט לא הופענו, היה קצת באס אבל לא משהו משמעותי.. הטבע מסביב מהמם!! יש אופציה לטיולים ממש מאזור הקבלה וסביב האיזורי, יש אפשרות להזמין סיור לילה סה״כ מקום שצריך לבוא. וגנים, ממש בתוך יער גשם, להיות מצוידים לקור בבקתה הטבע מהמם והצוות טוב ועזור במה שצריך!!

Great Costa Rican breakfast, friendly staff. Awesome to sleep in the forest with the sounds of the wildlife around. Had a margarita and saw a huge frog by the pond the night we were there. Wish we had the time to go hike the trail.

A truly unique stay in Costa Rica. I greatly enjoyed my 4 nights here. The rooms are clean, very comfortable, and of course are open facing right into the forest. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The restaurant is delicious! The free breakfast is great and the dinner entrees I tried were even better. I also did the night hike with Jose Miguel, he was extremely knowledgeable and we got to see so much wildlife right on the property. Some key notes: - female solo traveler safe - road to get up is rough, make sure you have an appropriate vehicle. Lite avlägset hotell med väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam personal och god mat. Vi bodde i deras superior rum, med eget kylskåp, wifi och terass med hängmatta. Familjen njöt av vistelsen och omgivningen.
